    Description

This is a vintage Nestle's Quik Tin from 1949 era, it is No. 84 can, at bottom is Mfd by Peter Cailler Kohler Swiss Chocolates Co., Inc. Fulton, N.Y.
Peter Cailler Kohler Swiss Chocolates Co. Inc. became Nestle Co.
Please take a moment to read a bit of interesting history on this:
When Fulton was unincorporated, it raised ,700 in 1899 to buy land to lure the three Swiss entrepreneur’s, Peter, Kohler , and  Cailler, to construct the first chocolate-manufacturing facility in the U.S. there. The Swiss came, they constructed, and then merged with Swiss Henri Nestlé in the late-20s. Fulton was big-time – it became the birthplace of Nestlé’s Quik and the home of the Crunch Bar and eventually Toll House Chocolate Chips.  But, in May 2003, after more than 100 years,
citing the high cost of restoring and updating the aging plant, Nestle closed the factory, leaving four hundred local employees jobless.
This particular can has never been opened.  On the side made in USA as well as From the Maker's of Nestle's Milk Chocolate with a little picture of Nestle's Almond Bar. Underneath that reads No. 84, Lamont Corless & Co.  My last photo shows a newspaper clipping from 1949 where Nestle was in talks to acquire Lamont Corless & Co, the producer then of Nestle's Quik. The bottom has been stamped with a number and 23 cents.  The paper label surrounding the entire can is in nice overall condition, just a small amount of wear on one side but no damage or peeling.  Take a look at the photos.  This is the earlier version of others sold that list them as 1950's.  Great rare Nestle's kitchen collectible!
This has been stored inside my glassed-in curio, so no dust to speak of nor musty smells.  It will ship via USPS Priority.   Please note, this is not edible any longer, to be used for display only!
