    RARE!  1955-59 Mike Hawthorn, Formula 1 World Champion Signed Photo Framed and Matted
    Framed measurements are approximately 10" x 11 7/8".
    Hawthorn was the first British Formula 1 Champion.  He retired in 1958, after his teammate Peter Collins was killed in the German Grand Prix.
    This photo shows Hawthorn sitting in the cockpit of his car after winning the 1955 24 Hours of
    Le Mans.  Even though Hawthorn won the race he was haunted by his involvement in the most deadly crash in auto racing history with the death of 84 spectators and 1 driver.
    Hawthorn would die in a 1959 road accident,  six months after his retirement.  At the time of his death, Hawthorn was suffering from a terminal illness.
