Done in durable cold cast polyresin. Excellent detail in casting, then hand finished and painted to give the look of rough stone that might have been weathered for centuries. This a beautiful piece, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Look at the detail in hi-res photos and you'll see what I mean. Knocker itself is a metal ring and ball, coated in black vinyl,
fully functional

I saw a review that said this knocker isn't for actual use but not sure why they thought that, it works great. Yes, some care must be taken, true of many things.
