    In this booklet, Ken de Courcy gives his handling and routine for Joe Karson's classic "Fastest Card Trick".   It is not only a great routine, but also a great lesson in how to get the most presentational and entertainment value out of a simple trick.   You can read the page photo that gives a description of the effect -- in essence a simple "pick a card, and I will find it" effect, but where things seem to go wrong (in humorous ways) and the simple effect runs into some very funny complications.
    There is some bold spectator management involved in the routine, but for a confident performer who knows how to gain rapport with the audience, this should be no problem.  Plus, de Courcy has made most of these secret management moments very easy and practical to execute.
